ABOUT MATT /
Matt Dunn is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist and composer. He’s been playing keyed instruments since he was tall enough to climb onto a piano bench. He’s been playing guitar since he was smart enough to realize that girls prefer guitar players over pianists.
Over the last 30 years he’s done a lot. He was in Philadelphia’s annual Mummers Day parade one year when he dressed up as Paul Stanley from KISS and played a cardboard guitar. He’s played piano and sang for cafe patrons in Galway, Ireland and played guitar, a real guitar this time, for homeless people in New York City’s Central Park. He once put on an impromptu one-man show for people leaving the pubs at 2am in Boston, MA. He’s put out three albums of original music. His latest album, released in 2022 under his pseudonym Eliza Effect is called “Untitled: A Tribute to That Dog.”
Matt met Liz through the vast musical world on the interwebs, and hilarity ensues. They get each other's weird, and weird is good.
ABOUT LIZ /
Liz Battaglia is an award-winning singer who started out singing along to The Beatles with her dad in the car. Her classic and folk rock lessons soon began via LP, followed by an introduction to the Big Band Era, and eventually Broadway. In high school, her passion for competitive choral music began. By college, she was awarded a full scholarship for classical voice training from Ithaca College.
While exhibiting opera chops, Liz lacked the discipline to follow rules or respect authority. This is when Liz discovered jazz and a renewed love of the traditional stage. Whether in a band, cabaret, or a simple piano bar, there’s no question Liz loves the limelight. She also enjoys performing in plays, rock and traditional operas alike. RENT! at Bristol Riverside, Jesus Christ Superstar at Keswick, La Boheme at Trenton War Memorial and The Rocky Horror Show in Ithaca are highlights.
With a penchant for pin-uppery and an air of wrong-era-ness about her, Liz gravitates to all things jazzy – or at least a little funky. No doubt, Liz is as comfortable behind a mic as floating in a bathtub. Though these things, of course, are quite mutually exclusive.
